What is unique about NVC's Hospitality & Tourism Management Program?
The curriculum taught in NVC's program directly reflects the needs of the hospitality industry as indicated by our Advisory Board. The board is made up of key Napa Valley hospitality leaders and employers, who share an active role in shaping and maintaining the relevance of our hospitality training. Our location, centered in the heart of Napa Valley, gives students access to a diverse and superlative panel of skilled instructors.
Hospitality courses provide a solid base of world-class customer service training, supervisory skills and industry-specific topics. The classes are tailored to meet the needs of enrolled students while teaching the latest trends in the hospitality industry.
What is the current need for trained Hospitality employees?
The hospitality industry in Napa Valley is growing along with its visitors and local services. Globally, the hospitality industry is by far the world's largest employer. The skills we teach in this program are life and business skills you can take anywhere you like. If you are just entering the jobforce or changing careers, you will have a significant head start in NVC's Hospitality Program.
Can I sponsor my own employees through the program?
We strongly encourage local hospitality business to send their employees through the program for additional training and/or updating. The training your employees will receive is the best value-oriented training you will find. Scholarships and other funding are also available through our financial aid office.
Is there a focus on Wine Industry Hospitality?
Yes, of course. Being located in the heart of a world renowned wine region, our hospitality program offers access to some of the finest winery principals and hospitality experts. Our program closely collaborates with the college's well established Viticulture and Winery Technology Programs to bring a strong emphasis on Napa Valley wines.
Are there externships available?
Our industry partners have all expressed their committment to this training program and all of them have work experiences in the many diverse areas of hospitality. Enrolling in this program is the best way to secure opportunities to work in any area that interests you.
What degrees are possible?
The program offers two Certificate of Achievement options, and one A.S. Degree option. Please see the left menu for more information.
Is there a fee for the program?
