The Social Sciences Division at Napa Valley College offers courses in the Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology. Our programs offer students opportunities to increase their knowledge of human societies past and present, to better understand human motivation and behavior, and to familiarize themselves with the development and dynamics of various human institutions. Most courses are transferable and fulfill a variety of requirements across several General Education plans. Interested students can also pursue Associate Degrees for Transfer in History, Political Science, Psychology or Sociology, as a first step toward a wide range of careers in education, law, government, psychotherapy, journalism, social work, and many more.
These degree programs encompass a diverse range of studies and specializations and may also serve as a springboard for students who wish to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in a four-year college.
