Welcome to the McCarthy Library

McCarthy Library

Welcome to the McCarthy Library at Napa Valley College! We're glad you're here. The Library has a number of resources that will support you and help you manage your classes.

Library cards

First, if you don't have a library card, here's how to get one:

  1. Go to the Get a Library Card page on the Napa County Library website and follow the prompts.
  2. Select Napa Valley College when it asks for your home library.
  3. Enter the rest of your information and create a PIN.
  4. Take your photo ID and student information to the Library Services desk in the McCarthy Library to pick up your library card.

If you already have a library card, you can see the status of any materials you have checked out and any holds you placed by logging into your account on the Napa County Library website.

Borrowing technology

Need a computer for class? The McCarthy Library has computers for your use in the library with free printing available with your student login.

In addition, there are laptops, Wi-Fi hotspots, and calculators available to borrow for an entire semester.

Fill out the Technology Loan Form and then see the Library Services staff at the Library if you prefer to borrow technology. You will need to complete a form for each device before picking them up at Library Services in the Library. Be prepared to show your student ID and proof of current enrollment when you come.
