High School Articulation Request

Dear High School Teacher or Administrator,

Thank you for your interest in the articulation/credit by exam process between your high school and Napa Valley College. Although a Superintendent or a High School Principal must sign off on an articulation agreement, the work of establishing articulation is a faculty to faculty process. The articulation process allows collaboration between Napa Valley College faculty and high school faculty to offer credit by exam/coursework to high school students. Articulation agreements allow the curriculum experts to come together to develop and align a pathway program and courses that help accelerate student progress.

At the end of the articulation process the college course student learning outcomes are embedded in the high school course. Both college and high school faculty have agreed on their common course content which is also reflected in the final course exam. High school students are more likely to pursue an educational pathway in college if they have already made progress in it at their high school. Thus, articulation agreements put you and community college faculty on the same team.
