Students learn to apply viticulture and winemaking theory in production situations through a combination of classroom instruction and hands on practice.  Our teaching facilities include a 5.5 acre student vineyard, a bonded teaching winery, wine lab space and very soon, a wine sales and hospitality lab. All program instructors are experienced wine industry professionals.

Distance Education Program

The Napa Valley College Teaching Winery was the first bonded winery in the California Community College System, and we released our inaugural 2008 vintage in the spring of 2009.   Through the support of the college, and the local business community, VWT has built a state-of-the-art program where students can explore all aspects of the industry.

Viticulture and winery technology students and graduates can be found working in well-paid and interesting positions throughout the wine industry. Prospects for employment are excellent.
