Articulation Agreements

ASSIST

Articulation System Stimulating Interinstitutional Student Transfer or ASSIST is an online student-transfer information system that shows how course credits earned at one public California college or university can be applied when transferred to another.

If you’re a student considering transferring to a different college or university, ASSIST.org is an invaluable resource. The website provides information on how specific courses at one school can be applied to degree requirements at another institution in the California state system. In addition to detailed course information, ASSIST transfer offers articulation agreements between schools and lists of required and recommended courses for various majors.

The ASSIST website is the official repository of articulation for California’s public colleges and universities. It provides the most accurate and up-to-date information about student transfer.

In addition to serving as a course articulation system, ASSIST provides an exploration tool for students and advisers to learn about transfer pathways at different institutions. The ASSIST org website interface allows users to identify and search for major requirements at California State University and University of California institutions and universities.

The ASSIST website is maintained by the California Community Colleges, the California State University, and the University of California.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Articulation Agreements:
ASSIST stores and displays articulation agreements, which are formal agreements between institutions that specify how courses from one college will be accepted and applied to requirements at another.

Transferability Information:
It provides information on which courses at a California community college will transfer to fulfill requirements for specific majors, general education, and graduation at CSU and UC campuses.

Official Repository:
ASSIST is the official source for this information, ensuring students have access to the most accurate and up-to-date data.

Not for Private or Out-of-State:
It primarily focuses on public California institutions and does not include information about private, out-of-state, or international colleges. This is changing and there are now AICCU member schools that are on ASSIST.

Not a Replacement for Counseling:
While ASSIST is a valuable tool, it is not intended to replace the guidance of a college counselor. Students should still consult with counselors for personalized advice and support.
