What is the current need for trained Hospitality employees?

The hospitality industry in Napa Valley is growing along with its visitors and local services.  Globally, the hospitality industry is by far the world's largest employer and is expected to grow to $700B in revenue for 2007.  The skills we teach in this program are life and business skills you can take anywhere you like.  If you are just entering the jobforce or changing careers, you will have a significant head start in NVC's Hospitality Program.

Can I sponsor my own employees through the program?

We strongly encourage local hospitality business to send their employees through the program for additional training and/or updating.  The training your employees will receive is the best value-oriented training you will find.  Scholarships and other funding are also available through our financial aid office.

Is there a focus on Wine Industry Hospitality?

Yes, of course.  Being located in the heart of a world renowned wine region, our hospitality program offers access to some of the finest winery principals and hospitality experts.  Our program closely collaborates with the college's well established Viticulture and Winery Technology Programs to bring a strong emphasis on Napa Valley wines.

Are there externships available?

Our industry partners have all expressed their committment to this training program and all of them have work experiences in the many diverse areas of hospitality.  Enrolling in this program is the best way to secure opportunities to work in any area that interests you.

What degrees are possible?

Under current review and approval are a Hospitality & Tourism Certificate Program (2 semesters) and an Associate of Science Degree (4 semesters).

Is there a fee for the program?

The only requirement to enroll in these classes is that you be a registered student of Napa Valley College.  Your education at NVC is probably one of the best values you will find, at only $20 per unit (most courses are 3 units).  Click here to register at Napa Valley College.  NOTE: Please pay special attention when registering and be sure to include either A, B or D in addition to the BUSI 298 course designation or you may not complete enrollment successfully!

Who do I contact if I am interested in speaking to, or teaching a class?

We are always interested in finding people who are passionate about their jobs and hospitality in general.  We have great students who want to learn more about real-world experiences and the wisdom that comes from those experiences.  Click here to email the Project Coordinator
