For as long as she could remember, Monique Rivera had always worked hard to be a great student, including during her time at Napa Valley College (NVC). But her trajectory toward excellence was not a given: as a young woman from a family rife with conflict, she found herself in her teenage years working hard without the recognition she desperately wanted.
Maizy Armstrong-Brown, Amaree Bennett, Alliyah Fernandez and Jaylen Susbilla-Madriaga are among the newest players to commit to Napa Valley. They add to the team’s depth and bring experience and all-around talent.
In 2019, Nicholas Ebeling was drifting. After graduating from Napa High School in 2017, he knew he wanted to continue his education, but had no specific major or goals in mind.
It took leaving the country of his birth to make it possible for Ben Cabral Dos Santos to later return and make positive contributions to the way of life for the people of Guinea-Bissau, a small country on the western coast of Africa.
