The Office of Student Affairs, specifically, Oscar De Haro, Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Student Affairs, has the distinct
privilege to announce to our Napa Valley College community the first-ever
annual award specifically acknowledging the exemplary workmanship of a Student
The “Dr. Ed Shenk
Excellence in Student Service Award” was created to recognize excellent service
to students, but also to encourage the continuation of that excellence. The
award is the impetus of Mrs. Sue Dee Shenk and her parents, Jerry and Peggy
Schlosser, who had the desire to bestow an acknowledgment on Student
Services/Affairs employees. The endowed donation of $25,000 made to the
Napa Valley College Foundation has been afforded to ensure the continued
monetary recognition attached to this award.

endowment. The first honoree is Martha
Navarro, the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President
for Student Affairs!
Due to COVID-19 and state and local social restrictions, this year's ceremony took place via Zoom on Friday, May 22nd at 2:00 PM.
