In agreement with AB705, students can enroll in any level of English they want.
The ESL Department has changed its program to help students take the best classes to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Students may not know what class is best for them. These students can use our placement tool to find the level of English that they are most comfortable with.
Using the tool is not mandatory.
The tool will show students what to expect in different classes and the tool will recommend a class based on the student's responses.

The Placement Tool recommended a class to me. How do I register for a class?
The placement tool is not the same as registration.
In order to register for one of the noncredit or credit classes, you can visit the Welcome Center on campus in the 1300 building to submit an application and register for classes.
You can also register online: click here to find out how.
