| For nearly two years, many students and educators around the world have had to face a previously unimaginable feat of interweaving elements of Distance Education with traditional instructional modalities. The current state of affairs indicates that we will continue to learn and adapt by developing novel teaching methodologies with alternative techniques, leading to a shift in pedagogy that combines varied forms of instruction to serve a mosaic of student populations with diverse learning styles. In this roundtable session, we'd like to explore how some educators have adapted, infused, and enhanced hybrid forms of Distance Education into their courses as well as address some of the issues we've encountered along the way. |

| Is the pandemic stressing you out? Secular meditation has gained widespread popularity as an effective tool for calming anxiety, pain management, and living mindfully in the moment. Come to this workshop that will explore some of the benefits of meditation. Resources (online & local) will be shared along with a chance to sit together. In addition, participants will share in an interactive format their own experiences with meditation practice including the challenges of maintaining a daily practice. Beginning and advanced meditation practitioners are welcome. |

This workshop will introduce you to the services provided by Mentis Napa at NVC, including campus location, days/hours, and how to refer students. Jeni and Miguel will host a mini-wellness café with staff to open the conversation about mental health and wellness, discuss burnout, the importance of instructor self-care, language to use with students, and the importance of breaking the stigma around mental health. |

| One might think that a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) is well equipped to serve its diverse student population, and in some ways, this is a reasonable assumption. But several of the structural barriers to creating a diverse and equitable learning and working environment at Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs) also exist at MSIs. This session will explore some of the recent literature pertaining to diversity, equity, and inclusion at MSIs, and provide an opportunity for dialogue about the challenges and opportunities in this arena presented at Napa Valley College. |

| The 2021 Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) that NVC submitted to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) in December was the first step in the comprehensive review process. Join NVC's Accreditation Co-Chairs Dr. Robyn Wornall and Dr. Jim McGowan for a discussion of the findings from the 2021 self-evaluation process and what comes next. The session will include a summary of NVC's improvement plans addressing planning and budget processes, the evaluation of practices for effectiveness, and participatory governance, as well as the two quality focus projects supporting Guided Pathways and student equity.
The refinement and implementation of these improvement plans and projects will begin in early 2022, and will be a collaborative effort involving multiple committees and offices across campus. Spring 2022 will include an opportunity to meet members of the peer review team assigned to NVC. That team will conduct a formative evaluation based on the 2021 ISER and will share the findings with NVC later this semester. The focused site visit will occur in October 2022.
