NVC has implemented a single sign-on (SSO) authentication system, which is the foundation of the MyNVC portal. Relying on SSO allows us to create a holistic web portal that will put every online NVC resource important to you in one place. This first revision of our myNVC portal will help you transition to relying on our new Self-Service interface, and stop using WebAdvisor to access your student information.
Moving away from WebAdvisor to Self-Service is an important step that will allow you to have just one username, and password combination to remember for accessing all of NVC's online systems which include:
- NVC based student email address using Office365 Outlook online.
- Full Office365 applications access including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more.
- Easy access to the NVC Canvas Online education platform.
- Easy access to the NVC Starfish student success system
How do I login to MyNVC?
Below is important information anyone with an existing student account should be aware of.
Your MyNVC student account has a specifically formatted username that might be new to you. An email was sent to your currently registered email address with that information.
To access Self-Service/Webadvisor, your username is created using your first initial, your lastname, and the last 5 numbers of your student ID (NOT your SSN). Someone named Jane Doe with student ID 12345 would login as jdoe12345.
To access all other web systems like Canvas or Office365, you will use your complete NVC email address, which looks like this: firstname.lastname@example.org
Default passwords are set to your birthdate in a MM-DD-YY format. Please note that if your birthday has a single digit month or day, you do need to add a zero.
So a birthday of 3/15/92, would make for a password of 031592.
LET'S GET LOGGED IN!
