Dr. Balassi teaches undergraduate and MBA economics. His research focuses on political economy, income inequality, macroeconomics, and economic education.
Steve is the Curriculum Committee Faculty Chair and the 1st VP of the Faculty Association. He is also a member of the Distance Education Group, Inclusivity Committee, and the Academic Senate Executive Committee.
His blog "Economics 101" is ranked in the top 65 of worldwide economics blogs. He serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Economics, Finance, & Banking and is an Aplia Advocate.
