Check Out the Library Website!

The McCarthy Library has a wide selection of resources available to students, faculty and staff.  The library website located at is a good place to begin your search.

Introducing SNAP online catalog and the Online Databases

One of the best ways to start researching is to use the "Find Books & Other Media" hyperlink to access the SNAP online catalog.  SNAP stands for "Solano, Napa and Partners."   Napa Valley College is part of a consortium comprised of local public libraries and Solano College library.  This allows users  the widest selection of books and other media available.  If a book is located at another library, we are able to obtain it for you in a short time and have it delivered to your nearest local library, including NVC.  The "Find Articles and Databases" link connects you to our subscription databases.  Again, we share access to these databases with our partner libraries.  The databases are available 24/7 from any computer with Internet access.  From off-campus you'll need to have your library card number.  You can apply for an e-card to access online databases if you do not already have a library card from SNAP by clicking the link in the middle of the library homepage.
