      Napa Valley College Foundation Announces Awards of 2014 NVC Scholarships
    $247,000 Awarded to 192 Students 
    May 29, 2014, 6 – 9 p.m.

    May 27, 2014 (Napa, California) - Napa Valley College Foundation is pleased to announce the 2014 NVC Scholarship Awards Ceremony.  $247,000 in scholarships will be awarded to deserving incoming, continuing, and transferring NVC students for the 2014/2015 school year.  The ceremony will take place in the NVC Performing Arts Center main theater starting at 6 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served in the Paul Ash Lobby directly following the ceremony.  This includes an historic first for NVC: the Napa Valley Grapegrowers Farmworker Foundation – Trefethen Family Vineyards Scholarship of $20,000 awarded to Armando Hurtado who is transferring to UC Davis to pursue a degree in viticulture & enology.  This event is free and open to the general public.  A full list of scholarship recipients is posted on the NVC website.  

    Each year the Napa Valley College Foundation (NVCF) receives generous contributions from community members, alumni, and businesses that are designated as scholarships for Napa Valley College students who have excelled in any number of academic or technical subjects, have demonstrated outstanding community services, and/or overcome a significant personal challenge.  With additional scholarship support through the NVC Foundation endowment, NVCF has assisted over 500 students in reaching their educational goals through the award of over $850,000 dollars in the last five years.
