Julie Hall, professor of Business, and Beth Pratt, associate dean of Economic Workforce Development, were invited presenters at the Entrepreneurship in Education Conference, Sept. 14 and 15 in Fresno. The conference drew more than 220 educators and innovators from throughout California, Washington, Oregon and Nevada.
Julie Hall and Beth Pratt co-presented “Integrating Entrepreneur Curriculum into CTE Programs and Courses.” The workshop gave an overview of the steps to effectively develop an entrepreneurial certificate and marry entrepreneurial curriculum with CTE coursework.
Pratt also presented on the topic “Napa Valley College: Growing the Next Generation of Entrepreneurial Leaders.” Sheryl Ryder from Napa County Office of Education and the California Department of Education, joined her to showcase model projects and collaborative efforts including the local NVC Youth Business Boot Camp and Youth Business Plan Competition.
The conference was sponsored by Palo Alto Software, Empact, Fresno State Lyle Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, NACCCE, and the Business and Entrepreneurship Centers of the California Community Colleges.
