How to Become "Umojafied"
As an Umoja Student:
a) Be committed to the goals, objectives, and mission of the Umoja Program.
b) Complete the Umoja Community Application, and supporting
c) Take the required program courses (COUN and SPCOM) and optional courses.
d) Participate in all related events and activities .
e) Meet with the Umoja Counselor a minimum of two times per semester
for educational and career planning.
f) Be active in "Porch Talk" - community dialogu.
g) Represent Umoja with respect, dignity, pride, and class inside and outside class..
As an Umoja Mentor:
a) Complete the Mentor Me application on the MENTOR ME PROGRAM
tab located on the navigation screen or, click on the link below.
b) Meet with your assigned Umoja student a minimum of 9 hours per semester
c) Be an advocate for the student
d) Participate in campus related events (when applicable)
e) Enjoy your interaction with your Umoja student
As a friend of Umoja
a) Participate in "The Village" activities.
b) Be active in "Porch Talk"- community dialogue
c) Support the goals and objectives of Umoja.
d) Attend sponsored and non sponsored events and Indabas.
