UMOJA

COMMUNITY REQUIREMENTS

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​                    All ​students are encouraged to be a part of the Umoja Community  

    PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS ​​​​

  1. Apply to NVC

  2. Complete the English and math assessment.

  3. Complete Orientation

  4. Apply for financial aid at (www.fafsa.gov)

  5. Participatation in 2 Umoja related courses each semester (courses​ are CSU/UC transferable)

  6. If you are a continuing student, you must take the required courses (fall: COUN 100, SPCOM 126; spring: COUN 110, SPCOM 120)

  7. Submit a completed and signed Umoja Community Application

  8. Complete a signed Photo Release Form

  9. Submit a signed Student Consent Form (parental signature required if under 18 yrs. of age)   

  10. Participate in Intrusive Counseling

  11. Mental Health Counseling when appropriate

  12. Participation in all events and activities related to Umoja

  13. Be a willing and active learner

  14. Allow your voice and words to be intentional and deliberate
