What are Career Pathways?
Career Pathways are sequences of courses that prepare high school students for successful completion of state academic standards and support the student's transition to more advanced and rigorous college coursework in a related career area of their interest. In partnership with local high schools, Napa Valley College helps to connect high school students in career pathways to college Career Technical Education (CTE) programs to give students a jump start on college and careers. This connection can include earning college credit through high school articulation and Summer Bootcamps. It can also include work experience and internship opportunities. Career Pathways at NVC
What is High School Articulation?
High school articulation is the alignment and comparability of high school and college coursework that is established through discipline-specific faculty collaboration. Students in articulated high school courses can earn college credit by taking the optional "credit by exam" offered in their high school articulated course. Once the articulation steps are completed, the student will receive a grade on their college transcript, with a note that the course was completed via "credit by examination". Summer Bootcamps are a great way for Career Pathway students to learn and earn college credit during the summer through an intensive 1-3 week course. Summer Bootcamp offerings.
