MESA Participants and SACNAS-SHPE members: 
SACNAS and SHPE announces OPEN board positions for the Fall 2013 & Spring 2014 academic year.  Come get involved!  Below are the board positions and brief description of duties. Come to the SACNAS-SHPE Meeting on Thursday, September 12, from 12:30-1:30 pm in the STEM Multipurpose Room (1805).   (FLYER ATTACED)

                   SHPE and SACNAS Board Members, Thursday, September 12th, at 12:30 pm in the STEM Room 1805. Old and new members welcome to run.

Time Commitment (hours per week est.)
Brief description of duties
In charge of leading the chapter, makes agendas, delegating tasks, running weekly meetings, and is the contact for all things concerning the chapter.  In charge of end-of-year essay reporting.  
Vice President
Assists with the presidential duties and replaces president when necessary.  Develops and coordinates outreach activities. Responsible for assisting the president with agendas.
Treasurer Fundraising/membership
Assists faculty advisor with the budget, accounting and collection of monies from fundraising, memberships, etc. Reports financial activity to the board. Researches and plans all fundraising events for the chapter. 
Takes minutes, archives meeting information, and sends out minutes to board members. Sends out meeting reminders to all members.  Maintain accurate attendance and membership records.
Publications-- Special Events/ PR
In charge of publicizing the chapter activities through flyers, announcements, posters, etc.  Works with NVC public relations.

                Works with NVC public relations Maintains chapter website and social networks, etc..
ICC Representative Outreach/Communications
Is the primary person who reaches out to the campus community. Maintains direct communication with ASNVC in regards to club policies. Works with Historian to plan formal induction ceremonies as well as any other special events.
Historian (Director of Alumni)
Photography and Documentation of events on/off campus, maintains records of event’s details and keeps alumni database
National Liaison
(SACNAS Only position)
Primary contact with local SACNAS Chapters and the SACNAS National Office. Submits Chapter Annual Reports. Reports chapter information such as changes to board members, contact information, etc. to National Office. Coordinates all activities involving National Organization such as the annual SACNAS National Conference.
