Brad Williams

HND - University of Bath
B.S. - Saint Francis Univeristy
M.A. - In Progress

Former Saint Francis University (Pa.) standout goalkeeper Brad Williams has been named the first Head Coach of the NVC Women's Soccer program.  A native of San Lorenzo, CA, Williams enjoyed a stellar four–year career for the Red Flash and still holds numerous program records including career shutouts, career goals against average, career save percentage, single–season shutouts, and single–season goals against average.  SFU advanced to back-to-back Northeast Conference tournament appearances with Williams between the pipes.  The 2006 semifinal win was the program’s first ever tournament victory.

Williams graduated from SFU with a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in psychology.  He was a three–year honor roll student, a scholar–athlete and served as a Student–Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member.  Williams also served as a student–athlete mentor, was on the athletic leadership council and earned the scholastic performance award.  A standout youth player, Williams was given the opportunity to study and play soccer overseas after his high school years.  Playing for Team Bath FC in Bath, England, Williams helped lead his team to back-to-back promotions through the English Pyramid System.  He played for two teams in the USL’s Premier Development League, the San Francisco Seals and the San Jose Frogs.

Prior to arriving at NVC, Williams served as the assistant coach at Chico State and while he was only there one season, the Wildcats enjoyed their most productive season in school history, reaching the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.  Chico State goalkeeper Natalie Bensky earned All–CCAA honorable mention accolades with nine shutouts, a 0.68 goals against average and a .84 save percentage under Williams’ tutelage.

In 2010, Williams joined CSU Bakersfield's women's and men's coaching staffs as he assisted the Roadrunners through the first season of NCAA Division I postseason eligibility. Williams currently holds a Higher National Diploma, an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a CYSA Goalkeeping License.  Prior to coaching at Chico, Williams was the goalkeeper director and premier club trainer for the Dublin United Soccer League.  In 2008, Williams was an assistant coach for Cal State East Bay in Hayward, CA, and also served as an assistant at Liberty High School in Brentwood, CA.  He spent six years as an Elite Soccer Skills Academy instructor in San Francisco and was a Challenger Sports Soccer instructor in Bath, England.
