She recently retired from performing with Strong Current Dance Company under the direction of Kirstin E. Williams. Kelly received her undergraduate degree from CSU, Sacramento and her MFA in Dance from Mills College in Oakland. Kelly would like to sincerely thank Pam Rogers, Marci Sanchez, Ann Yates and Cathy Mathews for their endless support her first few years here at fabulous Napa Valley College!

After relocating to Napa in the 1970s, she owned and directed a local dance studio and performed throughout the Napa Valley and the Bay area for the next 17 years. She earned her California Community College Teaching credential in Theatre and Dance and began teaching and choreographing for Napa Valley College in 1978 and has continued until present. She also choreographs for other Napa Valley events and musical presentations. Among her favorite musicals she has choreographed are Fiddler On The Roof, Carousel, Music Man, South Pacific, Cabaret, Phantom of The Opera, La Cage Aux Follies, Seussical, and Forever Plaid. She is adjunct faculty for the Napa Valley College Physical Education and Fine & Performing Arts divisions. In addition to her work in theatre and dance, she earned her Masters of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and works full time as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Marci Sanchez - A Napa Valley native, Marci studied dance locally under Pam Rogers and Deborah Palesch. She received her natori or professional certification in the Hanayagi style of classical Japanese dance under Hanayagi Juteika (Maryann Goodman) of Sonoma County. Marci was active with dance and choreography for musical theater in Davis, and Los Angeles. Marci has her BA in Sociology from UC Davis and her MA in Education – Counseling from UCLA. Returning to her roots, she began teaching ballet and jazz at NVC the summer of 2006 and hasn’t looked back. She is also currently a full-time counselor and instructor on campus. Thank you to all of the dedicated students, staff and faculty that are helping our dance program grow, especially those of you who have stuck with me from 2006. To those who are transferring or moving on to other things, I’ll miss you!!!
