Just as you will use the five steps of the nursing process to develop a safe and effective plan of care for your patients, you can do the same for developing a learning plan of care. The diagram below illustrates how you can see if your learning plan is working. You have already identified your learning style (assessment). You need to develop effective learning strategies that move you toward passing each test with a score of 75% or better related to the course requirements (nursing diagnosis). Your goal (plan) is to pass all the course tests with a score of 75% or better. In order to achieve your goal you will apply (implementation) a variety of learning strategies. You can develop your own test questions about the content of the unit (more implementation). Then see if you can answer the questions correctly (evaluation). This last step will help you to decide if your learning strategies are working.
