The new LLRC brings under one roof the Library and media services on the first floor with greatly expanded seating, study areas and computer access. On the second floor are the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC), media offices and production areas, Alternative Media, Testing and Tutoring (TT), Learning Services (LS), and distance learning facilities.




The first floor of the LLRC offers books, reserves, periodicals, expansive study areas, computers with software and Internet access, and stations for assigned media viewing. Electronic databases provide access to many full-text journals, newspapers and magazine articles. Reference librarians are available to assist you.

Three million items from the combined collections of two consortia are represented in an online catalog searchable via the Web. Ph: (707) 256-7400 (Circulation)  (707) 256-7430 (Reference).





The Learning Services department serves the educational needs of students who are experiencing difficulties learning, including those with learning disabilities.

NVC students may refer themselves for diagnostic evaluation. Information from the testing process is used by Learning Disability Specialists to determine accommodations that may support students in being successful in the college environment. (707) 256-7442.

 ALTERNATIVE MEDIA creates specialized media for eligible students. (707) 256-7455.


The primary purpose of TTC is to proctor tests for students with documented disabilities. We will proctor tests for the general student population as a courtesy.

Referrals for the Ability to Benefit Test are made through the Financial Aid Office. Once a student has received a referral from the Financial Aid Office, contact the Testing and Tutoring Center to make an appointment to take the test. Ph: (707) 256-7434 or 256-7437.

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) is the hub for professional development for Napa Valley College faculty and staff.

Services include workshops on effective practices, tools and techniques for teaching; counseling; NVC operations; use of technology to strengthen teaching, counseling and administration.

Faculty and staff are welcome to use the center’s computers, scanner and presentation tools for individual or group needs. (707) 256-7412.
