Napa Valley College launches new ecommerce winery website for sale of wine produced by students
NVC and eWinery Solutions have collaborated to launch new ecommerce website for newly bonded college winery.
Napa, CA. (January, 26, 2010) - Napa Valley College, in conjunction with the recent bonding of its Napa Valley Vintners’ Teaching Winery, has launched its own ecommerce website for the sale of wine produced by students. See www.nvcwinery.com. The winery will feature wines produced under supervision of winemaker and faculty member Bryan Avila and will serve as a learning facility for the students at NVC. The integration with wine ecommerce software will also allow students to learn about consumer direct sales and marketing on the internet, CRM, compliance and data management. All proceeds from the sale of wines will be dedicated to supporting the college program. The bonded winery on campus will be capable of producing approximately 1,000 cases per year, with the first bottles having been made available for sale to the public in November at a well attended release party at the college.
The construction and hosting of the website was donated by eWinery Solutions, the leading consumer direct ecommerce software company for the wine industry, located in Napa. The website design was donated by Rocco Ceselin of B.R. Pacific, a leading web design firm for wineries. Dick Kline, CEO and founder of eWinery, has been a longtime supporter of charitable causes for the wine industry. Said Kline, “helping students become familiar with every day tools involved in working in the wine industry is valuable to both students and their future employers. We are thrilled to be part of the launch of the project at NVC”.
NVC is a leading educational institution for those seeking jobs in the wine industry. Approximately 80 percent of the students in the wine technology program are already employed in the industry, while others are looking to get a foot in the cellar door. Approximately 1,200 people a year enroll in wine classes at NVC in the long-established Viticulture and Winery Technology program.
Bryan Avila is the NVC faculty member who has launched the project. Said Avila, “I have been quite impressed with the professionalism of the eWinery Solutions team. They have been very helpful in guiding us in the right direction to creating an attractive website that also effectively communicates our business goals to our customers. I am also impressed with the generosity and loyal network that eWinery Systems has created and shared with us. Rocco Ceselin’s website design is brilliant!”
