Ability to Benefit Testing
Referrals for the Ability to Benefit Test are made through the Financial Aid Office. Once you have received a referral from the Financial Aid Office contact the Testing and Tutoring Center to make an appointment to take the test.
Test Administration for Students With Special Accommodations
If you have documented disabilities and are permited to take your tests at the TTC, please make sure your instructor is aware of your need for accommodations by requesting that the instructor be notified by disability staff. Testing is done on a drop-in basis unless students require the use of a computer and/or assistance during testing (such as a scribe or reader). If you are allowed any of these accommodations, please call the TTC to reserve a room that meets your needs in advance of your test date.
All students are required to present a photo ID at the time of testing.
If you experience difficulty learning and would like to be tested for learning disabilities, you can go to the Learning Services website for additional information, or call them at (707)259-6058.
Examination Make-Up
The primary purpose of the TTC is to proctor tests for students with documented disabilities. We will proctor tests for the general student population as a courtesy. Please be aware that students with accommodations have testing priority. During times of high testing activity (such as midterms and finals), students with accommodations will be served first.
If you need to test at the TTC make arrangements with your instructor in advance. Picture ID is required.
G.E.D. Testing
The current GED testing schedule is available - 2010 GED Test Dates and Instructions. The G.E.D. costs $150 payable in cash at the time of registration. Registration takes place the week before each set of test dates. You will need to bring a government issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport, etc.), $150 in cash, and allow about twenty minutes to complete the registration process.
If you have already taken the G.E.D. and only need to retake a test or two, please call the TTC to make arrangements.
Go here if you've already taken your GED at Napa Valley College and need a copy of your scores or certificate.
