2013 NAPA VALLEY COLLEGE JESSAMYN WEST WRITING CONTEST
The English Department of Napa Valley College invites unpublished works of short fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction for the 2013 Jessamyn West Creative Writing Contest. First, second and third place winners will be selected in each of the three categories.
All winners will have their work published in the 2013 Jessamyn West Creative Writing Contest Anthology (medium to be determined at a later date). In addition, winners will receive free entry to all public events, including craft lectures and readings, at the 2013 Napa Valley Writers’ Conference (July 28-August 2).
The contest is open to all Napa Valley College students enrolled on a full or part-time, credit or non-credit basis, during the last twelve months.
The deadline for entries is Friday, April 19. Entries will be screened by the English Department with final judging done by professional writers from outside the college.
Entry forms are also available in the Division Secretaries’ Office in the 1000 building, the Writing Center, and the Library.
Submit work to the Napa Valley College Jessamyn West Writing Contest, English Department, Napa Valley College, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Hwy, Napa, CA 94558 by April 19th. Manuscripts will not be returned.
Manuscripts that do not follow the formatting guidelines or that do not have fully filled-out entry forms will be disqualified. Please see the entry form for more details and formatting guidelines.
