Basic Web Page Design Tips

Simple Rules to Follow When Creating Web pages

  • No underlining unless you are showing a link. Use italics or bold to show contrast or to emphasize.
  • Do not use more than one exclamation mark. If you feel you need to than you need a different word.
  • Consistency throughout your site, usually, with font type face (no more than 2), font sizes (no more than 2 or 3), color, and placement of information.
  • Show contrast
  • Show Alignment
  • For titles, headings or short bulleted sentences, you can use sans-serf type fonts
  • Use serf type fonts for writing long paragraphs. Serf type fonts helps to guide the reader through the page content.
  • Create another page if the information you have is not all visible without scrolling down.
